Artisan Forge Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 1, 2026 | Applies to the iOS app Artisan Forge
Overview
Artisan Forge is a generative art creation app. Core workflows run locally on your device, including canvas creation, layer parameter editing, local project saving, export and sharing, wallpaper export, and daily inspiration rendering.
Data Handling (By Feature)
2.1 Content You Create
- Project metadata: project name, creation date, tags, and rating.
- Creation data: serialized layer structures and parameter snapshots (layerData).
- Preview data: project thumbnails (when available).
Purpose: to save, load, filter, and continue editing your artworks in Library.
2.2 Image Processing Data
- When you use photo-driven workflows, the app accesses selected images for operations such as silhouette and palette extraction.
- For export and sharing, the app may create temporary files (such as
artwork.png) in the system temp directory.
Purpose: only for actions you trigger, such as analysis, export, sharing, or wallpaper flow.
2.3 Settings and Preferences
- Local preferences (NSUserDefaults), such as default render quality, default engine, and cloud sync toggle state.
Purpose: to improve your local user experience.
2.4 What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not upload your creative project content to our own servers as part of core canvas workflows.
- We do not require tracking permission to use core art-creation features.
Advertising
Artisan Forge integrates third-party advertising services to support app availability. Ads are provided by our advertising partner Liftoff Monetize (Vungle) and may include formats such as interstitial and rewarded video ads.
3.1 What Ad Partners May Collect
- Device identifiers (such as IDFA, when you grant tracking permission).
- Device and app information (device model, OS version, language, IP address).
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, and video completion events).
- Approximate location derived from IP address.
Purpose: to deliver ads, measure ad performance, prevent fraud, and attribute installs or conversions.
3.2 How Ads Are Shown
- Ads may appear at natural transition points during app use.
- Ad availability depends on your region, device settings, and partner inventory.
- Our app integrates Apple's SKAdNetwork and AdAttributionKit frameworks for privacy-preserving ad attribution where supported.
3.3 Third-Party Ad Partner
Liftoff Monetize (Vungle) processes data according to its own privacy policy. For more information, visit Liftoff Privacy Policy.
Tracking & Attribution
With your permission, Artisan Forge and integrated partners may use tracking technologies to measure advertising effectiveness across apps and websites.
4.1 App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
On iOS 14.5 and later, the app may show Apple's system tracking permission dialog. The message displayed is: "We use your device identifier to measure ad performance and improve ad relevance."
- If you tap Allow, the app and ad partners may access IDFA for personalized ads and measurement.
- If you tap Ask App Not to Track, IDFA will not be available; ads may still appear in a less personalized form.
4.2 Attribution Partner (AppsFlyer)
We use AppsFlyer to measure app installs and campaign attribution. AppsFlyer may collect device and campaign-related data to help us understand how users discover the app.
For more information, visit AppsFlyer Privacy Policy.
4.3 SKAdNetwork & AdAttributionKit
Even when you decline tracking, Apple may still provide privacy-preserving attribution signals (such as SKAdNetwork on iOS 14+ and AdAttributionKit on iOS 17.4+) so that ad partners can measure campaign performance without direct user-level tracking.
Permissions
Artisan Forge may request system permissions only when needed for a feature you choose to use.
- Photo Library access: to import reference photos and to save exported artworks.
- Tracking permission (ATT): to measure ad performance and improve ad relevance, if you choose to allow it.
You can manage permissions in iOS Settings at any time.
Your Controls
- You can delete projects and related artwork files from within the app.
- You can clear exported files in your Photos app or Files app.
- You can revoke app permissions in iOS Settings.
- You can disable tracking for Artisan Forge under Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- You can reset your advertising identifier under Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising.
Children's Privacy
Artisan Forge is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, please contact us so we can review and remove it where applicable.
Policy Updates
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected in release notes or by updating the effective date on this page.
